Funky Dinos is a story about power, resilience, and perseverance. Heavy on horns and grooves, the album falls into the sonic worlds of power funk and jazz rock, drawing influences from Amy Winehouse to Tower of Power. The ten-track album ranges sonically from soulful jazzy songs like “Ours” to the band’s heavier jam / rock moments on “The Oil,” which YACK! Magazine called “a finely sharpened anthem that cuts deep enough to draw blood.”
The album was recorded at Retro City Sound Studios and engineered by Brendan McGeehan. Horns were recorded at Sound Plan Productions and engineered by Vince Tampio. It was mixed by Lucas Kozinski at Sleepless Sound Studio and mastered by Todd Mecaughey at Cambridge Sound Studios.
